Liber Privacy Policy

Liber helps you understand what is taking up room on your phone, sort through it and, if you wish, put some files somewhere safe.

Analysing and sorting your photo library happens directly on your phone. No file is sent to Holeb Technologies during these operations. Only the files you expressly choose to archive are sent to the Vault.

2. What stays on your phone

The cleaning and sorting features are designed to work locally. In this context, Holeb Technologies does not receive:

The Vault code stays on your device and is not sent to Holeb Technologies.

When you choose to archive a file, it is sent to the Vault. Liber checks that the transfer is complete and that the stored copy is intact before offering to remove the original from your phone. The decision to remove is always yours.

3. The data we process

3.1 Creating and managing your account

When you create an account, we may process the following data:

An email address is required to create and run the account. Data shown as optional may be left blank.

This processing is necessary to perform the service you ask us for.

3.2 Using the Vault

When you use the Vault, we process only the items you choose to put in it:

3.3 Messages sent to Holeb Technologies

We use this data only to reply to you, solve a problem or follow up on our relationship with you.

This processing relies on performance of the service or on our legitimate interest in answering the requests we receive.

3.4 Notifications

If you turn notifications on, we keep a technical token allowing a notification to be sent to the app installed on your device.

Our notifications contain neither your files nor their contents. Delivery is handled by Apple or Google, depending on your device.

You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s settings.

3.5 Usage statistics

We collect limited statistics to understand how Liber is used and to improve how it works. They may include:

These statistics rely on our legitimate interest in measuring and improving how Liber works. You can object at any time in the app, More tab, “Help improve Liber” setting, or by writing to us. When you refuse, nothing further is sent, and whatever had already been noted on your device is erased.

4. Technical data and security

When your phone communicates with our services, some technical information may be processed temporarily in order to:

It is not used for advertising or to build a commercial profile.

Communications between Liber and our services are protected in transit. Files placed in the Vault are also protected while stored.

Access to systems and data is limited to the people and providers who need it to run, secure or support the service.

We apply technical and organisational measures suited to the nature of the data processed. Since no computer system can guarantee zero risk, these measures are reviewed regularly.

7. Retention periods

We keep data only for as long as each use requires.

Before any automatic deletion linked to inactivity or to a subscription ending, we send two warnings to the latest contact details saved in the account.

Some data may be kept longer where a legal obligation requires it, or where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

8. Hosting and service providers

Files placed in the Vault are hosted with OVHcloud, in data centres located in Europe.

We also use service providers to deliver certain Liber features:

These providers receive only the data needed for their function. Some, notably Apple and Google, may also process data under their own responsibility to run their store, their services, your account with them or the payments they collect. Such processing is then governed by their own privacy policies.

Where using a provider involves processing data outside the European Economic Area, we check that a mechanism recognised by European law governs that processing.

9. Payments

Payments made from the app are handled by the store or the payment provider chosen.

Holeb Technologies receives the information needed to:

Holeb Technologies does not receive your full card details when the payment is collected directly by Apple, Google or another payment provider.

The payment methods offered may vary by country and by platform.

10. Your rights

Depending on your situation and the legal basis for the processing, you may exercise the following rights:

Deleting the account leads to the deletion or anonymisation of data that is no longer needed. Information we must keep to meet a legal obligation, in particular accounting records, is archived separately for the required period.

You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) : www.cnil.fr.

11. Users under 15

Liber is not intended for children under 15.

If we learn that an account was created by a child under 15 without the necessary authorisation, we will take appropriate steps to delete the account and the associated data.

If a significant change affects how we use your data or the rights available to you, we will tell you in Liber or through the contact details linked to your account.
